Dunn‑Edwards color · mixed in Benjamin Moore
Benjamin Moore already has the formula for Bean Sprout, so we mix the exact color at our North Scottsdale counter, in the line the surface needs. Same color, better paint. If you’d rather choose one of Benjamin Moore’s own colors, the five closest are below.
About this color
Sheen: Matte or eggshell on walls; satin on trim, semi-gloss on doors. Higher sheens on walls amplify stucco texture and roller marks. Flat on exterior stucco.
DEW356 Bean Sprout is a very-light, muted green (LRV ≈ 85). Very light colors reflect the most heat, a real summer advantage on an Arizona exterior that no overlay or HOA rule limits. They are above all three Maricopa County municipal caps (Scottsdale ESL Overlay 35%, Paradise Valley Hillside 38%, Scottsdale Foothills Overlay 40%), and desert-aesthetic HOAs often ask for deeper bodies too. Inside the overlays or in those HOAs, use it on ceilings, cabinets and interior walls.
Bean Sprout (DEW356) is in the Dunn-Edwards catalog but isn’t a body, trim or accent color in any Arizona HOA palette we track.
Which Benjamin Moore line?
On a stucco body we use flat, because sheen on a sunlit wall reads as glare. Element Guard is the one for a summer repaint: it forms a sound film in the heat and is rain-ready in about an hour. The rest of the year, Regal Select Exterior is our standard repaint. Indoors, Regal Select Interior in matte or eggshell. Bring the Benjamin Moore code from any of the five swatches above and we’ll mix that exact color at the counter. Swatches marked interior only, or not recommended for exterior, are for indoor work.
Bring the Dunn-Edwards code, your HOA scheme number or a Benjamin Moore code from the swatches above, and we’ll match the line to the job.
