Sherwin‑Williams color · mixed in Benjamin Moore
We keep the Sherwin-Williams formula for Tango on file, so we mix the exact color in Benjamin Moore at our North Scottsdale counter, in the line the surface needs. Same color, better paint. If you’d rather choose one of Benjamin Moore’s own colors, the five closest are below.
About this color
Sheen: Matte or eggshell on walls; satin holds up better on garage doors and high-touch trim. Flat on exterior stucco.
SW6649 Tango is a mid-tone, saturated warm orange (LRV ≈ 34). Mid-tones are where most Arizona HOA bodies land, and where beige, tan, taupe and warm-gray exteriors blend with the Sonoran landscape. Its LRV is under the overlay caps, but it is too saturated for the color rules in the Scottsdale ESL, Paradise Valley Hillside and Scottsdale Foothills overlays. Mid-tones run slightly warmer in west sun than lighter bodies, so we use Element Guard or Regal Select for any south or west elevation.
Which Benjamin Moore line?
On a stucco body we use flat, because sheen on a sunlit wall reads as glare. Element Guard is the one for a summer repaint: it forms a sound film in the heat and is rain-ready in about an hour. The rest of the year, Regal Select Exterior is our standard repaint. Bring the Benjamin Moore code from any of the five swatches above and we’ll mix that exact color at the counter. Swatches marked interior only, or not recommended for exterior, are for indoor work.
Bring the Sherwin-Williams code or a Benjamin Moore code from the swatches above, and we’ll match the line to the job.
