Sherwin‑Williams color · mixed in Benjamin Moore
We keep the Sherwin-Williams formula for Dignity Blue on file, so we mix the exact color in Benjamin Moore at our North Scottsdale counter, in the line the surface needs. Same color, better paint. If you’d rather choose one of Benjamin Moore’s own colors, the five closest are below.
About this color
Sheen: Matte or eggshell on interior walls; flat on exterior stucco. Soft gloss or semi-gloss on doors, shutters and trim.
SW6804 Dignity Blue is a very-dark, saturated blue (LRV ≈ 6). Very dark colors are the Arizona desert-architecture trim and accent default: desert-aesthetic HOAs typically want trim and fascia set darker than the body, and white trim is uncommon here. They suit front doors, shutters and iron gates. Its LRV is under the overlay caps, but it is too saturated for the color rules in the Scottsdale ESL, Paradise Valley Hillside and Scottsdale Foothills overlays. As a full body on a west wall they run hot, so talk to us about the elevation first; for trim and accents we use Aura Exterior or Regal Select soft gloss.
Which Benjamin Moore line?
Soft gloss holds a clean edge on trim, fascia and doors, and resists chalking in our sun. Arizona schemes set the trim darker than the body; where a dark trim color takes full afternoon sun, Aura Exterior holds it longest. Bring the Benjamin Moore code from any of the five swatches above and we’ll mix that exact color at the counter. Swatches marked interior only, or not recommended for exterior, are for indoor work.
Bring the Sherwin-Williams code or a Benjamin Moore code from the swatches above, and we’ll match the line to the job.
