Reading

LRV is how much light a color reflects, from 0 for black to 100 for pure white.

At an approximate LRV of 38 it absorbs roughly three-fifths of the light that falls on it.

Aura Interior and Regal Select Interior are the lines we would use indoors. It is a specialty color, so ask us before you use it outside.

It works across a whole room with good south-facing windows, and as a single wall, a cabinet body or an accent anywhere else.

Matte or eggshell on walls; satin holds up better on doors and high-touch trim.

AC-14 is a specialty color outside the current Master Color Index, so call us before you choose an exterior line for it. Tinted while you wait at the counter. Ask for a quote and we’ll call back with the price and have it mixed for pickup; sample pints are mixed the same way.

Questions

  • Will it look like this on my wall?

Not exactly. Screens vary and paint shifts with the light in the room. Pick up a sample before you commit to a wall — put it up for a full day so you see it in morning light, afternoon light and lamplight before the gallons get tinted.

  • Is it approved for my HOA?

That depends on your community, not on the color alone. Search your HOA to see its approved palette, then bring the scheme in and we will tell you how Pecos compares. Committees approve colors, not brands, so a Benjamin Moore can is fine as long as the color matches the approved sheet.

  • Which line for a west-facing exterior?

Benjamin Moore does not publish exterior guidance for AC-14, a specialty color, so ask us before you use it outside. Bring a photo of the wall to the counter and we will find the closest color that is rated for exterior use.

  • Can you match it in another brand?

We tint Benjamin Moore. AC-14 is a native Benjamin Moore formula, so there is nothing to approximate here — it comes out of the machine as published. If you have a Dunn‑Edwards code, Benjamin Moore already has that formula too. For a chip or a lid with no code, bring it in and we will read it and tell you how close we can get.
