Reading

LRV is how much light a color reflects, from 0 for black to 100 for pure white.

At an approximate LRV of 79 it returns most of the light that falls on it, so the light in the room changes how it looks. It reads cooler by a north window, warmer in afternoon west sun, and different again under a lamp at night.

Aura Interior and Regal Select Interior handle the interior side. It is a specialty color, so ask us before you use it outside.

It reads as a pale yellow, and the color shows more on a full wall than on the chip. It suits whole rooms and cabinet bodies.

Matte or eggshell on walls; satin on trim, semi-gloss on doors. Higher sheens on walls amplify stucco texture and roller marks.

Questions

  • Will it look like this on my wall?

Not exactly. Screens vary and paint shifts with the light in the room. Pick up a sample before you commit to a wall — put it up for a full day so you see it in morning light, afternoon light and lamplight before the gallons get tinted.

  • Is it approved for my HOA?

That depends on your community, not on the color alone. Search your HOA to see its approved palette, then bring the scheme in and we will tell you how Grand compares. Committees approve colors, not brands, so a Benjamin Moore can is fine as long as the color matches the approved sheet.

  • Which line for a west-facing exterior?

Benjamin Moore does not publish exterior guidance for AC-42, a specialty color, so ask us before you use it outside. Bring a photo of the wall to the counter and we will find the closest color that is rated for exterior use.

  • Can you match it in another brand?

We tint Benjamin Moore. AC-42 is a native Benjamin Moore formula, so there is nothing to approximate here — it comes out of the machine as published. If you have a Dunn‑Edwards code, Benjamin Moore already has that formula too. For a chip or a lid with no code, bring it in and we will read it and tell you how close we can get.
