Waterborne Ceiling Paint

Ultra flat paint made for ceilings. Hides seams and patches, and spatters less overhead.

What it’s for

A ceiling catches light at a low angle, so every drywall seam, patch and roller lap shows. This one is ultra flat, the flattest finish Benjamin Moore makes for ceilings, and it stays wet long enough to roll out without lap marks. It’s also made to spatter less, which matters when you’re rolling over your head.

It comes in Ceiling White, or tinted to any Benjamin Moore color, so a ceiling can carry a quiet version of the wall color instead of stark white. It primes itself on drywall and on ceilings that are already painted. Bare plaster and wood take a primer first, and we’ll tell you which one.

It’s a ceiling paint, so it isn’t made for walls or anything that gets rubbed. It goes on between 50°F and 90°F, which is never a problem indoors with the air on. A garage ceiling in July can run hotter.

Repainting a sound ceiling the same white? One coat is often enough.
