Meoded · Microcement
Concretta FS
Meoded's water-resistant microcement for showers, tub surrounds, backsplashes, countertops and low-traffic floors. It goes straight over clean existing tile, with no primer.

What it's for
Concretta is a cement and limestone plaster troweled on in two thin coats for a seamless, smooth surface with subtle movement: the look of concrete, with no grout lines. It bonds directly to clean tile, marble and stone, so a dated shower can be resurfaced without demolition.
The water resistance comes from the sealer, not the plaster. Shower walls get three coats of PlasterGuard (four for best results). Floors and countertops get one coat of PlasterGuard and two of PlasterSeal Plus. Concretta is only the finish layer: on new walls, the shower has to be waterproofed underneath first.
It comes as a powder you mix with water. Mix every batch the same way, with the same water, speed and time, because a change shows up as a change in color.
Where it goes

- Interior and exterior
- Made of
- Cement and limestone; a powder mixed with water
- Coats
- Two

- New walls
- Quartz Primer; in a shower, waterproof the wall first
- Color
- Tinted at our counter
- Seal
- Walls: three to four coats of PlasterGuard. Floors and counters: one coat of PlasterGuard, then two of PlasterSeal Plus.

How it goes on
Meoded's steps, shortened. The full instructions come with the product.
- 1Prep. Over tile: scrub the grout clean, sand the tile lightly with 60-grit paper and dust it off; no primer. New drywall: a drywall primer (PVA), then one coat of Quartz Primer. In a shower, waterproof the wall before any of it.
- 2Mix 10 lb of powder with about 30–36 oz of clean water, the same way every time.
- 3First coat: thin and even, with fine fiberglass mesh pressed into it over tile. A damp sponge in circles evens it out. Over tile, give it 24–48 hours to dry.
- 4Second coat (a third if grout lines still show), then let it cure at least 72 hours.
- 5Seal. Walls: PlasterGuard thinned 20% with water, then two or three full coats, 1–2 hours apart. Floors and counters: one thinned coat of PlasterGuard, then two coats of PlasterSeal Plus. Wait 24–48 hours before using the shower.
- 624 hours after sealing a shower, run clear silicone or caulk where the wall meets the floor and around fixtures.

Questions
Is Concretta the same as tadelakt?
No. Tadelakt is a Moroccan lime technique sealed with soap; Concretta is a cement microcement sealed with PlasterGuard. Meoded notes that Concretta is quicker to install and needs resealing every few years rather than every few months.
