What it's for

Renaissance is the one Venetian plaster in the line that is acrylic rather than lime. Acrylic stays workable longer, so colors can be blended wet into wet. The marble look comes from working one or more accent colors into the second coat over a base color, drawing the veins, and burnishing it to a shine.

It goes over a smooth, Level 5 wall, and the pattern is decided by hand on the wall, so it is a job for an applicator who has done marble work. HydroWax adds gloss; Stain Shield protects it without adding sheen.

How it goes on

Meoded's steps, shortened. The full instructions come with the product.

  1. 1Prime. New drywall gets a drywall primer (PVA) and glossy paint gets sanded and a multi-purpose primer; then one coat of Meoded Quartz Primer, three to five hours to dry. A sound, flat painted wall needs only the Quartz Primer.
  2. 2First coat: thin and even over the whole wall. At least 8 hours to dry.
  3. 3Second coat: tight, overlapping patches, with the accent colors worked in and the veins drawn, then burnished smooth and shiny.
  4. 4After 24–48 hours, HydroWax for more gloss or Stain Shield for a natural look.
