Meoded · Stone-effect lime plaster
Marmorino Palladino
A lime plaster with a heavier, medium-size grain for natural stone looks, Old World distressed walls and calm, smooth finishes. Inside or outside.

What it's for
Palladino carries more grit than Tintoretto, which is what lets it read as stone. The first coat is sponged while damp to bring up the grain. The second can be burnished smooth with gentle movement, or worked into travertine, skip-trowel, drag and stone textures.
Thinned with about 5% water, it becomes Meoded's lime slurry, brushed onto raw, unpainted brick or stone with a masonry brush. That is the look behind a German schmear.
It is lime-based and breathable, rated for interior and exterior walls, and Meoded lists it as zero VOC.

How it goes on
Meoded's steps, shortened. The full instructions come with the product.
- 1Prime. New drywall gets a drywall primer (PVA) and glossy paint gets sanded and a multi-purpose primer; then one coat of Meoded Quartz Primer, three to five hours to dry. A sound, flat painted wall needs only the Quartz Primer.
- 2First coat: thin and even. Before it dries, a damp sponge in circles exposes the grain and evens out the pattern. At least 12 hours to dry.
- 3Second coat: a little thicker, kept even. Burnish with pressure for a smooth finish with movement, or work the texture you want.
- 4After at least 48 hours, seal with Stain Shield, or HydroWax a smooth finish for a low sheen.
- 5Outside, over a stucco brown coat: pressure-wash it, let it dry, prime with Quartz Primer thinned up to 25% with water, and apply three thin coats instead of two.

Questions
Can Palladino go over brick?
Raw brick, yes, as a lime slurry: Meoded thins Palladino with about 5% water and brushes it on with a masonry brush for a German schmear look. It goes straight onto unsealed, unpainted brick, stone and masonry; painted or sealed brick needs a different prep. Bring a photo of the brick, and we will talk it through with you.
