Golmex
A Portland cement, lime and silica sand plaster for the look of polished concrete on walls, inside or outside. It comes in one color: natural cement gray.
What it's for
Golmex gives a wall the look of architectural concrete without pouring any. Troweled smooth, it reads as polished concrete; left rougher, it has the pits and pull of a cast wall.
It is a dry powder mixed with water as you go, and each batch gives you 45 minutes to an hour and a half of working time. It is not tinted: Meoded makes it in natural cement color only. For a concrete look in another color, Concretta and Vega both tint.

How it goes on
Meoded's steps, shortened. The full instructions come with the product.
- 1Prime. New drywall gets a drywall primer (PVA) and glossy paint gets sanded and a multi-purpose primer; then one coat of Meoded Quartz Primer, three to five hours to dry. A sound, flat painted wall needs only the Quartz Primer.
- 2Mix only what you can use in the working time, the same way every batch.
- 3First coat: thin and even. A damp sponge in circles before it dries evens it out. At least 12 hours to dry.
- 4Second coat: the same way, finished smooth or textured.
- 5After at least 48 hours, seal with Stain Shield.
